Is a small smart-glasses display enough for reading?
A small display can be enough for a short cue. Sustained reading adds demands: clear text, comfortable placement, manageable line breaks and a way to recover your place. Total pixel count cannot answer those questions by itself.
A useful glance is different from a page
Start with the amount of information you need at one time. A name and next step may fit comfortably. A document may require so much paging that the controls become the main experience. Apparent text size and the usable viewing region matter alongside the number of pixels.
Compare reading "Meeting moved to room 4" with reviewing the meeting's full agenda. The first can be understood at a glance. The second needs headings, navigation and more attention. If your software keeps reducing the font to fit the agenda, move the detail to a larger screen and keep the glasses focused on the next useful item.
