Should smart glasses show full notification text?
Only when the user wants that detail in the current setting. A brief cue can announce that something needs attention, with an intentional action revealing more. Automatically displaying everything can create unnecessary distraction and disclosure.
Start with the next useful decision
Ask what the wearer needs to decide now: read, reply, defer or ignore. The initial card can support that choice without exposing the full content. It should also be easy to dismiss and should not return repeatedly after the wearer has chosen to leave it.
An email cue might say that a reply is waiting, then open the relevant detail on request. The exact wording should reflect what the app knows and what the user permits. A larger amount of text is not automatically a more helpful notification.
