How does text reach the lens of smart glasses?

Software turns the message into a display layout, display hardware produces the image, and optics direct that light toward your eye. A waveguide can transport the display light through a transparent optical element. It does not generate the words or decide what they mean.

There are two separate design jobs

The application decides which information to show and how to arrange it. The optical system determines how that image reaches the wearer. Fix an overlong sentence in the application before blaming the lens: better optics cannot rescue a layout that puts the important number off the edge of the usable area.

Consider a card reading "Train 18:42, platform 6." The software chooses the line breaks, font and position. The optical system carries that rendered image to the eye. Losing a word because the text wraps badly is a different problem from losing a corner because the frame has shifted.
