Does a microphone mean smart glasses store everything they hear?
No. A microphone provides an audio input. Software determines when it is used, what processing occurs and whether a recording or transcript is retained. The hardware alone does not establish continuous storage.
Ask about the active feature
Distinguish a short command, a conversation transcript and a stored recording. They can all begin with a microphone but leave different outputs. A privacy description should name those outputs rather than treating all audio use as one behavior.
For a voice command, identify the start and stop signals and whether the app retains a history. For a meeting feature, also identify the saved record and deletion controls. These are concrete questions that can be answered from the implementation and documentation; the microphone icon on a specification sheet cannot answer them.
