What is the difference between transcription and translation?
Transcription turns speech into written words in the spoken language. Translation changes the language of the content. A spoken translation workflow can need both, so errors may arise before the translation stage even begins.
Inspect the intermediate text
Compare the recognized words with what was said before judging the translated result. If the transcript gets a name or number wrong, the translator may faithfully carry that mistake into another language. Fixing the input can be more useful than changing the translation model.
If someone says a meeting time and the final translation shows the wrong hour, find whether the transcript already contains it. This simple intermediate check separates recognition from translation and makes a failure report much more actionable than saying the entire language feature misunderstood the conversation.
