Can a laptop replace a smart-glasses companion phone?
Sometimes a laptop can be the source for a screen or a development host. It cannot automatically replace a phone app whose services, permissions and device protocol are specific to that phone platform.
A matching cable or radio is not the whole interface
Distinguish sending video from running a companion workflow. A monitor-style device may accept a laptop's supported video output. A glasses assistant may need an application that connects accounts and controls the frame. Those are different jobs.
For a prototype, identify the SDK's supported host and prove the required input/output loop there. For a consumer feature, follow its documented companion requirements. A successful laptop display demo does not establish that the same machine can run every phone-dependent feature of another product.
