Only if the particular task can run without it. Local capture, stored content and connected AI are different functions. A product can support one without a phone while still requiring the phone for another.
Name what you expect to happen away from the phone
List the source of each result. A stored item already on the available device is different from a newly received message. An internet-dependent service needs a supported connection somewhere in the remaining system. Removing the phone can remove both the app logic and that route.
For an outing, separate recording something now from retrieving or sharing it later. Ray-Ban Meta's documented local capture is an example of the distinction, not proof that all of its connected functions become phone-free. Buy against the task you want to complete during the outing.
