Can I reuse ordinary prescription lenses in smart glasses?

Do not assume they are interchangeable. Shape, mounting and the approved optical assembly are product-specific. A manufacturer or qualified fitter should establish what is supported before a frame is modified.

Similar dimensions do not establish a supported fit

Begin with the intended service route rather than trying to make an existing lens occupy the opening. The finished glasses need to work as an assembly and remain serviceable. Display optics and electronics can make visual similarity to an ordinary frame misleading.

Take the exact smart-glasses model to the lens provider and ask about supported options. If reuse is not supported, compare the proper alternatives before ordering. That is more useful than buying the frame on the assumption that a familiar lens shape makes the rest straightforward.
