Is a small arrow enough for navigation in smart glasses?
An arrow can work for a clear next turn, but closely spaced junctions can make it ambiguous. A concise street name, distance or other identifying detail can tell the wearer which turn the instruction refers to. The right cue depends on the route and display.
Make the next action distinguishable
“Turn right” can mean several things when two streets and a building entrance are close together. More text is not automatically better; the useful addition is the detail that resolves the ambiguity. The interface also needs a clear response when the wearer passes the intended turn.
Try a familiar route with neighboring junctions and one deliberate missed turn. The question is whether the wearer can identify and recover the route with brief glances, without needing to study a miniature map while moving.
