How does navigation work in smart glasses?

A navigation feature combines a route, an estimate of your current location and an instruction you can read or hear. Different components may provide those pieces: a phone can supply location and routing while the glasses present the next turn. The hardware and application determine the arrangement.

The arrow is the end of a longer process

To show a useful instruction, the system needs to know where you are along the route and which maneuver comes next. A location error can therefore produce a wrong-looking arrow even if the display itself works correctly. Losing the phone connection can create a separate delivery problem.

Identify the source of location, route calculation and display updates before troubleshooting. That makes “navigation stopped working” a tractable question about a particular part of the chain rather than a guess about the glasses as a whole.
