Can smart glasses translate both sides of a conversation?
They can support a two-way conversation only if the workflow provides an output the other person can understand as well as one for the wearer. Text visible inside your glasses helps you, but the other participant cannot read it unless you share it through another surface.
Follow the reply all the way back
A return path might use spoken translated audio or text on a companion phone, depending on the application. The important question is how your response reaches the other person and whether changing direction requires a control or language switch. These details affect the rhythm of the conversation.
Rehearse one complete exchange: the other person asks a question, you read the translation, you answer and they receive your reply. That exposes a missing return path which a one-direction demonstration can easily leave out.
