Should smart glasses show a live transcript throughout a meeting?
A continuous transcript can be useful when reading the conversation is the feature a participant needs. For other meeting tasks, it can consume attention that would otherwise go to the speaker. A short cue and a persistent transcript solve different problems.
Let the wearer choose the amount of information
A participant following captions may need continuous text with readable timing. Someone using the glasses for agenda reminders may prefer a mostly quiet display. Pause, dismiss and return controls let the same interface support different moments without assuming that more visible text always helps.
Evaluate whether the wearer can follow the discussion and respond naturally, rather than counting how many transcript lines fit. A full transcript can remain available on the companion device while the glasses show only the information relevant to the current task.
