What is a head-locked display in smart glasses?
A head-locked display keeps content in a position relative to the wearer rather than at a location in the room. Turn your head and the content follows. This can suit a brief status cue that needs to remain accessible.
Choose placement around the task
Use a head-following cue for information such as a short status update, where hunting around the room for it would be inconvenient. A large persistent panel can demand much more attention. The size, duration and dismiss control matter as much as the fact that the panel follows you.
A small "Reply ready" card can appear, wait for a decision and disappear. A document covering a large part of your view is a different proposition. Calling both head-locked describes their movement, but says little about how intrusive or useful the experience will feel.
