How does speech-following work in teleprompter glasses?
Speech-following tries to match the words you say to a position in the prepared script, then advances the displayed text. It can reduce manual scrolling, but the application still has to handle pauses, paraphrases, repeated phrases and sections you decide to skip.
The difficult part is finding your place again
Matching an exact sentence is easier than interpreting an improvised aside. If the script repeats a phrase, a system can also have more than one plausible position. A usable design needs a way to pause automatic movement and move to the right passage yourself.
In a rehearsal, intentionally change a sentence and jump over a paragraph. Watch whether the app stays nearby, freezes or jumps to the wrong occurrence of a phrase. We value a predictable correction control because even a good match can become uncertain during a live conversation.
