Is automatic scrolling better than manual control in teleprompter glasses?
Automatic scrolling is convenient when your delivery stays close to a predictable pace. Manual control gives you freedom to pause or improvise, but it adds an action while you are speaking. Neither approach is best for every presentation.
Recovery matters more than a smooth scroll
A fixed scroll speed can leave the script behind after an audience question or move too slowly when you accelerate. Useful controls let you pause, step back and resume without hunting through the whole document. Manual systems need a clear response to each input so repeated taps do not accidentally skip several passages.
For a prepared monologue, automatic movement with an easy pause may work well. For a discussion with frequent interruptions, short cues advanced explicitly can be easier to manage. We would choose based on the shape of the conversation rather than the polish of the scrolling animation.
