How should long Twitch messages appear in smart glasses?
Long messages need an explicit display policy: truncate them visibly, split them into manageable passages or offer a handoff to the original. Keep the sender and enough context to avoid changing the meaning. Silently shortening a message can remove a qualification or make a reply misleading.
Preserve meaning before fitting the screen
A summary introduces interpretation, whereas visible truncation tells the wearer that words are missing. If summarization is used, label it and retain access to the original message. Names, amounts and negation are especially poor places to cut text without making the omission clear.
For an invented message such as “Don't restart yet; the upload is almost finished,” showing only “restart” would reverse the useful instruction. We would favor a readable excerpt with a clear continuation indicator over an apparently complete but misleading sentence.
