Can a through-the-lens video prove smart-glasses readability?
It can show a recorded view of the display, but it cannot establish the experience of every wearer. Camera position, focus and exposure affect the recording, while individual fit affects the person using the glasses.
Use the video for the question it can answer
Use a video to inspect layout, transitions and the kind of content being shown. Use an actual fitted trial to judge personal readability. Confusing those two purposes can make both a good and a bad recording misleading.
A clip with clear central text does not tell you whether your prescription arrangement leaves the corners equally usable. Conversely, a poorly focused recording can make a readable display look weak. Ask how the video was made and keep it as supporting material alongside, rather than a replacement for, the relevant trial.
