What is a fair text-readability test for smart glasses?
Use unfamiliar but comparable text, the intended lens configuration and a task with observable errors. Measure whether the participant reads the important details correctly and can return to them after looking away.
Keep the comparison from teaching the answer
Change the names and numbers between trials so the participant cannot answer from memory. Keep apparent text size, location and the task as comparable as possible. Count rereads and frame adjustments alongside misread characters.
A simple exercise asks the wearer to choose the room and time from a short card, then repeat with a different card after looking away. This is a suggested method, not an established E1O hardware score. Its purpose is to make the reading outcome clear enough to compare and discuss.
